Job description

The Department of Philosophy at Smith College invites applications for the position of Lecturer, to begin July 1, 2026. This is a full‑time, non‑renewable one‑year appointment with a teaching load of five courses over two semesters. AOS: Open. AOC: Philosophy of Mind. A Ph.D. in Philosophy is expected by the time of appointment. Candidates from groups underrepresented in Philosophy are encouraged to apply.

Location: Northampton, MA. Smith College is the largest women’s college in the United States, dedicated to excellence in teaching and research across the liberal arts. Faculty participate in small‑class instruction, advising, and student‑faculty research projects. The college offers opportunities for faculty success at all career stages.
