Job summary

Cal Poly Pomona invites applications for a Lecturer AY in Technology and Operations Management. The department seeks qualified instructors to teach in Statistics, Analytics, Operations and Supply Chain areas and to engage with students in an on-site, semester-based capacity.

Temporary appointments are made through the lecturer pool as needed, with Fall and Spring terms and potential Summer teaching. Candidates should have a Master’s degree (Ph.D.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business-related field or Statistics/Analytics.
  • Ph.D. in Operations and Supply Chain Management or related discipline is preferred.
  • Industry experience in analytics and operations management is favorable.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses in the TOM department and maintain regular office hours.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and student mentoring.
  • Engage in service to the department and college as eligible.

College of Business Administration

Cal Poly Pomona's College of Business Administration, including the Singelyn Graduate School of Business, serves over 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students. All programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) -a distinction earned by only 6% of business schools worldwide.Notably, the college, along with three other CSU campuses, holds a separate AACSB accreditation for its accounting program, placing it among the elite 3% of institutions globally with both business and accounting accreditations. Recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best undergraduate business programs, the college offers eight undergraduate options as part of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree. Department of Technology & Operations Management

The Technology and Operations Management Department (TOM) offers rigorous and rewarding education in supply chain management and e-Business related areas. We host two options in Business Major with one in Supply Chain and Operations Management and the other in E-Business, two of the hottest areas in today's business world. E-Business (EBZ) is booming and the requirement for effectivesupply chain is becoming more and more challenging. Fifteen yearsago, consumers are happy with free shipping but lengthy wait.Nowadays, they want the right product, and they want it in a day. The competitive advantages from supply chain management and e-Business are becoming the game changers for the business world. Your choice of Supply Chain Management and E- Business will set the right steps into the future business world.

The Position

The temporary faculty pool is continuously open, and positions arefilled as needed, based on student enrollment and funding.Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on shortnotice. The Fall term begins in late August and ends inmid-December; the Spring term begins mid-January and ends inmid-May. Opportunities for teaching during the Summer Sessions may also be available. We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student-centered to teach in the following subjectareas:

  • Statistics and Business Analytics, Operations and Supply ChainManagement, Enterprise Resources Management such as SAP
Responsibilities

Teach assigned division courses in the department's curriculum and serve weekly office hours based on assigned teaching unit load.Assignments may include day, evening, and/or weekend courses.

Required Qualifications
  • A master's degree in businessadministration/Statistics/Analytics or related discipline in thefield relevant to the curriculum or related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. in Operations and Supply Chain Management/BusinessAnalytics or related discipline
  • Prior teaching experience at the college or university leveland ability to furnish evidence of strong teaching.
  • Industry experience in Business Analytics, Operations andSupply Chain Management.
Salary and Benefit Information

Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based onprofessional experience and educational background and aredetermined by the hiring department. Initial appointments are forone semester only. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthlybase salaries indicated above are prorated to the number of unitsworked and are paid in six monthly payments for each fullsemester.

Most new appointees are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank and placed at the beginning of the range. Anticipated hiring rangedepending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:

Lecturer A: $5,507 - $ 6,677

Lecturer B: $6,221 - $13,224

Lecturer C: $6,825 - $14,523

Lecturer D: $8,593 - $15,211
