Job summary

UC Irvine HR is seeking an experienced benefits/leave professional to counsel employees and managers on disability, leave of absence, workers’ compensation, and benefits. The role requires navigating applicable laws, ensuring compliant processes, and coordinating with attorneys, third-party administrators, and across departments.

Responsibilities include administering workers’ compensation, guiding leave cases, and collaborating with benefits, labor and employee relations to optimize outcomes

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of FMLA, CFRA, PFL, PDL, Workers' Comp, and related laws.
• Strong oral and written communication; ability to communicate with confidence.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard information.
• Experience with case management software and Windows software.

Responsibilities

• Counsels employees and managers on disability, leave of absence, workers’ compensation, and benefit plans.
• Administers Workers' Compensation benefits; coordinates treatment and advises on costs.
• Manages leave of absence (LOA) processes and related cases.
• Coordinates with workers compensation, disability, benefits, and labor relations.
