Job summary

University of Louisville is seeking a Benefits Specialist I Leave Coordinator to administer and coordinate employee leave programs in line with university policies and laws. You will serve as a key resource for faculty, staff, and leadership on eligibility, timelines, and return-to-work processes.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with familiarity in leave programs, HRIS, and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • One year of experience in benefits, HRIS, and/or leave program administration and systems.
  • Professional HR certification such as CEBS, CBP, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP.

Responsibilities

  • Administers the University of Louisville's leave programs (vacation, sick, FML, temp medical, personal) in compliance with policies and laws.
  • Track leave balances, periods, required documentation, deadlines, and return-to-work dates.
  • Determine eligibility, obtain certifications, and provide required notices.
  • Assist employees in completing paperwork to begin the leave process.
  • Provide notices under FMLA regarding status or coverage and return to work requirements.
  • Coordinate with managers on leave designation and status; work with payroll for accurate payments.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information and records.
