Brixmor is seeking a Leasing Representative to support a portfolio of retail properties and report to the VP, Leasing. You will source tenants, negotiate terms, analyze leases and close transactions while building networks with tenants, brokers and ownership across the region.

The role requires 3–5 years of retail leasing experience and an undergraduate degree, along with strong communication, negotiation and quantitative skills.

This position reports to the VP, Leasing and is responsible for a portfolio of retail properties. The Leasing Representative will perform all leasing activities and develop networks and strong market-wide tenant, broker, and ownership relationships and identify potential tenants.

Responsibilities

• Source new tenants
• negotiate lease parameters
• analyze leases and close lease transactions
• Negotiate and complete lease renewals (including business terms; coordinate and assist with legal and environmental issues with appropriate support teams in the corporate office)
• Establish tenant and industry relationships
• Perform market surveys and cold calls
• Develop and send marketing packages and materials to potential tenants
• Thoroughly understand demographics, traffic patterns and market trends
• Calculate return on investment, net present value and other financial ratios, percentages, and measurements
• Be knowledgeable of competing shopping centers and rental rates
• Understand a situation and creatively, logically strategize alternatives and determine a course of action
• Travel throughout region

Qualifications

• An undergraduate degree
• 3-5 years leasing experience in retail leasing
• Strong deal sheet
• Experience canvassing and cold calling
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Skilled in relationship building, negotiation, mathematics, time management, and organization
• Exhibit initiative, aggressiveness, persistence, ambition, good judgement, confidentiality, and attention to detail
• Ability to focus on many tasks and requests at once and to work independently in a high pressure environment
