TFE Properties, LLC is recruiting a full-time leasing agent with prior leasing experience and a strong closing record to lease apartments and serve as a customer service representative at our residential communities located in Somerville, New Jersey.

The candidate must be well-organized, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing situations. The candidate must possess the ability to work as part of a team to reach occupancy and renewal goals. Good oral and written communication skills are essential. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is required; Yardi knowledge is a plus. A valid driver’s license is required. The position requires working weekends and flexibility within a 40-hour workweek.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reports to: Property Manager

General Duties:

• Lease apartments at the highest effective rent possible while maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction.
• Qualify prospective residents by determining needs and preferences, and highlight features and benefits.
• Sell the qualities of the community over the phone and schedule appointments for prospective residents to visit the property.
• Follow all company and leasing guidelines during the sales process.
• Maintain a courteous and helpful attitude towards residents, potential residents, and vendors.
• Respond promptly and courteously to resident requests.
• Understand and adhere to all federal and state laws regarding Fair Housing, OSHA, Workers’ Compensation, and the Federal Wage and Hour Act.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Answer incoming phone calls in a pleasant and courteous manner.
• Oversee guided tours of housing units and common areas.
• Understand and communicate company policies and procedures to residents and prospects.
• Complete all leasing documents accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate resident files and keep the workspace organized.
• Enter walk-in traffic, phone calls, leases, and related information into the Yardi system daily.
• Track and record traffic sources for all inquiries.
• Qualify potential residents following company guidelines.
• Process applications and forward them to the Property Manager for approval within 24 hours.
• Assist new residents during the move-in process, including signing lease documents and move-in inspections.
• Inspect move-in units to ensure no outstanding defects.
• Contribute to resident retention programs through participation and development of resident events and initiatives.
• Market the community to local businesses, real estate companies, and locators.
• Visit competitive properties monthly and report findings to the Property Manager through a Market Survey.
