Job summary

RigUp is seeking a Lease Operator/Pumper to monitor, operate, and maintain oil and gas production equipment and facilities. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant operations across wells, tanks, separators, and associated equipment.

Responsibilities include daily inspections, recording production data, monitoring pressures and temperatures, and performing routine maintenance. Strong safety culture and ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience as lease operator, pumper, or in oil and gas production preferred.
• Knowledge of oil and gas production operations and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate oil and gas wells and production facilities.
• Conduct daily inspections of wells, tanks, separators, pumps, and other production equipment.
• Gauge tanks and record production data accurately.
• Monitor pressures, temperatures, and fluid levels to ensure proper equipment operation.
• Start, stop, and adjust pumping units and other production equipment as needed.
• Detect and report equipment malfunctions, leaks, and unusual conditions.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks including lubrication, filter changes, and minor repairs.
• Sample oil, gas, and water for testing and quality control.
• Maintain accurate records and complete daily reports.
• Coordinate with field supervisors regarding production issues and equipment needs.
• Respond to alarms and emergency situations.
• Ensure compliance with company safety and environmental policies.
• Perform winterization and preparation of equipment for seasonal conditions.
• Monitor and manage tank levels and coordinate product hauling.
• Check and adjust chemical injection systems.
• Maintain clean and organized lease locations.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and other safety protocols.

Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED


• Previous experience as a lease operator, pumper, or in oil and gas production preferred


• Knowledge of oil and gas production operations and equipment


• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills


• Ability to read and interpret gauges, meters, and basic schematics


• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation


• Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting


• Good communication skills, both written and verbal


• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision


• Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions


• Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call and emergency response


• Understanding of safety procedures and commitment to safe work practices


• Ability to respond to callouts and work overtime as needed
