Job summary

RigUp, Inc. is seeking a Production Operator to monitor and operate oil and gas wells and surface equipment, ensuring safe and efficient production. The role demands independence in field settings, accurate data recording, and adherence to safety and environmental standards.

You will perform routine inspections, troubleshoot equipment, and respond to emergencies, with a demanding schedule and on-call duties across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of oil and gas field experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong understanding of oil and gas production operations and facilities.
• Ability to operate wells and facilities independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with production equipment such as pumps, compressors, valves, and tanks.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
• Ability to read gauges, meters, and interpret production data.
• Strong attention to detail and record-keeping accuracy.
• Ability to meet physical demands including lifting and outdoor work.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate wells and surface equipment including pumps, compressors, valves, tanks, and pipelines.
• Gauge and record tank levels, gas meters, pressures, and temperatures.
• Open and close valves to control flow and maintain operations.
• Inspect equipment for leaks or safety hazards and perform or recommend repairs.
• Collect product samples and perform basic quality testing.
• Maintain production reports, meter readings, and inspection logs.
• Complete daily production logs and tank gauge reports.
• Monitor alarms and respond to operational issues or emergencies as needed.
• Perform basic maintenance such as tightening connections and lubricating equipment.
• Inspect pipelines, valves, and fittings for leaks or malfunctions.
• Assist with spill prevention and environmental compliance procedures.
• Coordinate materials and supplies for daily operations.
• Communicate updates to supervisors and team; train less experienced personnel.
• Work across multiple field locations; remain on-call for emergencies.
