Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain oil and gas production equipment.
• Monitor and optimize production systems including SCADA and instrumentation.

Job description

Island Operating is actively seeking experienced Lease Operatorto join our team supporting oil and gas operations in Pecos, TX. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of oil and gas production systems while maintaining the highest standards of safety, environmental compliance, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Actively supports Health, Environment, and Safety processes by accomplishing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies, carrying out duties in an environmentally conscious manner, following safe operating practices as described in the S&T Safe Practice Manual, maintaining a safe working environment, and being prepared to respond to an environmental or safety event
• Operates, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains oil and gas production equipment
• Perform duties (as detailed below) associated with oil and gas producing operations; including but not limited to plunger lift, rod pumping and flowing wells, and compressors:
  • Gas Compression
  • Gas Dehydration
  • Optimizing artificial lift systems
  • Testing wells
  • Acquires fluid level information
  • Chemical Injection systems (corrosion inhibitor, etc)
  • Saltwater disposal system
  • Records keeping and data input
  • Monitors computer control systems
  • Tests on safety devices
  • Operates and monitors of SCADA
• Partners with other employees, and contractors to ensure that all equipment is operating at peak efficiency

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of current related experience in oil and gas, or related petrochemical industries
• Experience operating and monitoring oil, water and gas production and distribution facilities
• Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) required
• Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence
• Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with operations personnel
