Job summary

Stevenson School seeks a Learning Support Specialist for the Lower and Middle Divisions to provide targeted academic support and develop Student Accessibility Plans. The role collaborates with faculty, families, and outside providers to ensure equitable access to the Stevenson curriculum and promote student success.

Responsibilities include data-driven intervention planning, progress monitoring, and professional collaboration with division leaders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in education and experience.
  • Master's degree in Special Education, Educational Therapy, School Psychology, Reading Specialist, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with neurodiverse students.
  • Experience interpreting psychoeducational evaluations; experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong problem-solving skills; highly organized with expertise in planning, implementing, and evaluating student services.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, including international students and underrepresented populations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized and small-group academic support for Lower Division students; design and implement evidence-based interventions.
  • Develop and revise Student Accessibility Plans annually.
  • Collaborate with teachers to differentiate instruction and accommodations; observe classrooms and ensure accommodations are implemented.
  • Communicate with families; participate in Student Success Team meetings and parent conferences; coordinate with outside providers.
  • Maintain confidential student records and progress data; organize Learning Support Meetings; support program evaluation.
  • Stay current with research in learning differences; participate in professional development and school activities.
