Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; higher education credits acceptable.
• Associate degree/credits or ParaPro score acceptable.
• One year of related experience preferred.
• Experience in an educational team preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing educational programs and managing student behavior.
• Lead small groups or individualized instruction in reading, writing, math, and social/behavioral skills.
• Prepare teaching materials and assist with classroom activities.
• Communicate with the special education teacher about student needs.
• Use technology to collect IEP data and inform goals.
• Attend trainings to broaden expertise with students with special needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.
