Job summary

The University of Florida College of Medicine is seeking an Academic Program Specialist III to provide individualized academic support and learning strategy coaching for medical, PA, and graduate students at the COM. This role coordinates accommodations, designs educational workshops, and serves as a liaison to the UF Disability Resource Center.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or equivalent
• Experience supporting graduate-level students or professional health science students is preferred
• Proficiency in assessment tools for adult learning disabilities and related interventions

Responsibilities

• Serve as a COM liaison to the UF Disability Resource Center and testing agencies, guiding accommodations processes
• Coordinate accommodations and testing arrangements for COM students
• Identify and monitor students with academic difficulties across medical, PA, and graduate training programs
• Provide individualized academic support and learning strategy coaching
• Monitor progress to support study and test-taking strategy development
• Manage student-led review sessions and small-group workshops
• Guide tutor programs, ensuring training and quality assurance
• Monitor tutoring expenditures and payroll for timely payment
• Design and deliver workshops addressing learning strategies, clinical reasoning, time management and resilience
• Participate in committees to advance student learning and education best practices
