Skills Development & Learning Technology / SDLT | Full-Time, Hybrid

Springfield

The Opportunity

MassMutual’s Skills Development & Learning Technology (SDLT) team is seeking a Learning & Performance Insights Consultant focused on learning metrics, impact reporting, and practical measurement approaches. In this role, you will help the team move beyond activity and completion tracking toward clearer insight into learning effectiveness, skill development, business outcomes, and operational impact.

This is a highly visible individual contributor role for someone who can translate learning data, system activity, program outcomes, and operational signals into clear insights for senior leaders and business partners. You will build and evolve the measurement framework for learning and skills-based development, create stakeholder-ready reporting, and help define how SDLT evaluates whether learning solutions are contributing to capability, performance, and business outcomes.

You will be a trusted partner with Operations leaders, program owners, learning teams, and subject matter experts to strengthen how learning work is measured, reported, and improved. This role requires strong analytical judgment, executive-level communication, practical measurement expertise, and the ability to turn complex data into clear recommendations and senior-level report-outs.

The Team

You will join Skills Development & Learning Technology team, part of Operations Shared Services & Enablement. The team builds skills, learning experiences, tools, reporting, and performance support that help Operations employees and leaders work more effectively.

We partner closely with Operations leaders, business teams, learning technology partners, HR, and subject matter experts to plan, deploy, measure, and improve learning solutions. The team is evolving toward a more integrated learning ecosystem where learning systems, content, skills data, reporting, and performance insights work together to support role-based development and operational capability.

The Impact
  • Build and evolve SDLT’s learning measurement framework, with a focus on skills-based learning, behavior change, performance outcomes, and business impact.

  • Translate learning data, skills data, system activity, and operational measures into clear insights, recommendations, and senior leader-ready report-outs.

  • Develop reporting views, dashboards, summaries, and scorecards that help leaders understand learning demand, delivery health, capacity, outcomes, and impact.

  • Define practical measures for learning solutions, including how success will be tracked before, during, and after launch.

  • Partner with program owners and business leaders to connect learning outcomes to business priorities, operational performance, customer experience, and workforce capability.

  • Strengthen how SDLT reports on the value of learning by moving beyond completion metrics toward evidence of skill growth, application, and performance impact.

  • Analyze trends, risks, gaps, and opportunities across learning programs, skills initiatives, pilots, and technology-enabled learning solutions.

  • Create clear data narratives so leaders can make informed decisions about priorities, investments, scale, and continuous improvement.

  • Improve reporting consistency, data quality, and measurement practices across SDLT’s learning portfolio.

  • Use modern reporting tools, learning systems data, and AI-enabled capabilities where appropriate to improve analysis, insights, and reporting efficiency.

  • Support the team by building reusable measurement templates, reporting standards, data definitions, and practical approaches that improve quality, consistency, and speed.

The Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma

  • 3+ years of experience developing metrics, reporting narratives, or dashboards for stakeholders.

  • 2+ years of experience creating and analyzing dashboards, trackers, reports, or operational data sets using tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar data platforms.

  • 1+ years of experience translating complex data into clear insights, recommendations, and executive-ready summaries.

The Ideal Qualifications
  • Experience building or improving learning measurement frameworks, impact models, skills measurement approaches, or program evaluation methods.

  • Experience supporting skills libraries, skills data, capability frameworks, role-based learning models, or learning pathways.

  • Experience working with learning systems, content platforms, learning data standards (SCORM, xAPI), survey results, operational metrics, and performance data.

  • Understanding of modern learning measurement practices, including skills-based learning, behavior change, performance support, and outcome-based evaluation.

  • Experience in financial services, insurance, operations, contact center, or other regulated environments.

  • Familiarity with AI-enabled analysis, data storytelling, dashboard design, or modern learning technologies.

  • Strong ability to see patterns across data, identify what matters, and shape practical recommendations that support better business decisions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently and influence through data and insight.

What You Can Expect at MassMutual
  • Clear areas of ownership and accountability, with work that connects directly to company and customer outcomes

  • A collaborative environment where perspectives are welcomed

  • Access to learning, development, and internal networks that support continuous growth and skill-building over time

  • Employee-led communities and forums that foster connection, learning, and inclusion across the organization

  • A culture grounded in integrity, responsibility, and stewardship—supported by a company with a strong legacy and a future-focused mindset
