Job summary

Henry Ford College is seeking a Learning Lab Coordinator for a 12-month, full-time faculty position in the Learning Lab. The role focuses on daily operations, staff supervision, and expanding learning supports beyond the classroom to boost student success.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in Education or related field and at least two years of higher education teaching or equivalent tutoring/learning support experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with emphasis on teaching/learning or in a discipline with tutoring/learning support.
• Two years of full-time teaching in higher education or two years in a college learning-support setting.
• Experience with best practices in learning support including tutoring, supplemental instruction, and online learning.
• Demonstrated supervisory and management skills overseeing diverse staff including student workers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary administrative point of contact for Learning Lab daily operations.
• Supervise Learning Lab staff and student employees to ensure a safe, welcoming learning environment.
• Research, plan, and evaluate tutoring systems using data-informed higher education best practices.
• Develop and deliver robust tutor training materials and professional development sessions.
• Administer recruitment, onboarding, training, and mentoring of staff.
• Manage department expenses and budget; propose cost-effective improvements.
• Partner with schools, departments, and offices to improve tutoring services and student outcomes.
• Analyze local lab data and national research to drive program innovation.
• Foster diversity, inclusion, and a collaborative culture within the Learning Lab.
• Participate in college committees, including chairing the Learning Lab Advisory Committee.
• Align department initiatives with strategic planning goals and ongoing professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
