Job summary

Henry Ford College invites applications for a full-time, 12-month Learning Lab Coordinator. The role oversees daily operations, supervises staff, and partners with faculty and student services to expand tutoring and learning supports beyond the classroom.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree, at least two years in higher education teaching or equivalent, and proven supervisory and instructional leadership.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in teaching and learning or related field.
• Two years of full-time higher education teaching or equivalent in learning support.
• Experience with tutoring, supplemental instruction, online learning, or student success coaching.
• Demonstrated supervisory and management skills with diverse teams.
• Ability to create and deliver effective learning experiences for individuals and groups.
• Understanding of the community college mission and diverse student needs.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and knowledge updates.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary administrative point of contact for the Learning Lab daily operations.
• Supervise Learning Lab staff and student workers to ensure a welcoming learning environment.
• Research, plan, and evaluate tutoring systems using data-informed practices.
• Develop tutor training materials and professional development seminars.
• Administer recruiting, onboarding, training, and mentoring of staff.
• Manage department budget and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Collaborate with schools, programs, and offices to improve tutoring services and retention.
• Analyze local lab data and national research to drive program innovation.
• Foster diversity and inclusiveness and maintain a collaborative work climate.
• Participate in college committees, including chairing the Learning Lab Advisory Committee.
