The Learning Instructional Designer & Developer designs engaging, learner-centric training programs for enterprise-wide use. This role involves translating skill-based knowledge into clear learning outcomes, utilizing adult learning theory and rapid design methods to create effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Consultation:
- Conduct needs analysis, design, development, and implementation of training materials and programs.
- Collaborate with business partners and subject matter experts to gather and validate content.
Design and Development:
- Develop interactive e-learning modules using tools like Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise).
- Create cohort-based learning experiences on platforms like Intrepid.
- Use multimedia tools such as Camtasia, Premiere Pro, Vyond, and Photoshop to enhance learning materials.
- Ensure accessibility (WCAG 2.1 Level A) and SCORM compliance.
- Design visual assets aligned with brand guidelines.
- Develop instructional materials including course outlines, lesson plans, and assessments.
- Apply adult learning theories for practical, application-based design.
- Build wireframes and prototypes to emulate learning experiences.
- Create visual and interactive components for consistency.
- Explore new technologies with the Enterprise Learning Enablement team.
- Deliver engaging presentations to diverse audiences, including leaders.
Evaluation and Improvement:
- Assess training effectiveness via feedback, assessments, and performance metrics.
- Continuously improve learning solutions based on feedback and tech advancements.
Project Management:
- Manage small to medium projects ensuring timely delivery.
- Serve as course developer and project lead with subject matter experts.
- Communicate project status to team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of instructional design experience with e-learning development for a Fortune 500 organization.
- Experience designing cohort-based learning (preferred).
- At least 1 year of project management experience (AGILE a plus).
- Self-directed, adaptable, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to support key enterprise initiatives with multiple learning solutions.
- Knowledge of human behavior, adult learning, and training assessment.
- Proficiency with eLearning tools (Vyond, Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate 360) and SCORM.
- Strong graphic design skills.
- Experience with multimedia editing software (Premier Pro, Camtasia) and Wellsaid.
- Knowledge of HTML, LMS, LXP, and VLE platforms.
- Proficient with MS365 Office Suite, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
- Ability to travel for business meetings.
For remote work, a broadband or fiber internet connection of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload is required.
Salary range: $82,900 - $138,100 annually, depending on experience and location. The role may include participation in an annual bonus plan.
