Job summary

Ceredigion County Council Direct Payment Support Service is seeking compassionate Learning Disability Support Workers to provide high-quality, person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities and autism.

Individuals live in supported living or single-occupancy placements and require structured routines, emotional regulation support and safe community access. This role offers a rewarding, calm environment with ongoing specialist training and supervision.

Qualifications

• Provide 1:1 and 2:1 support in line with individual care plans
• Support with personal care and daily living tasks
• Promote emotional regulation and reduce behaviours using PBS approaches
• Maintain structured routines and safe access to community

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and 2:1 support in line with individual care and support plans
• Support with personal care, daily living tasks and independent skills
• Promote emotional regulation and reduce behaviours that challenge using low-arousal and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches
• Support individuals with sensory needs, communication difficulties and anxiety
• Maintain structured, predictable routines to promote safety and wellbeing
• Support safe access to the community, activities and meaningful engagement
• Monitor and respond to health needs, including epilepsy and complex conditions where applicable
• Work collaboratively with families, professionals and multidisciplinary teams
• Complete accurate records, incident reports and daily notes
• Maintain a trauma-informed, respectful and person-centred approach at all times
