Job summary

Mechanical Dynamics & Analysis LLC (MD&A) is a premier provider of power generation services and repairs. This Learning & Development Specialist will shape and deliver programs that build workforce capability, drive performance, and support business goals.

You will partner with leaders to co-create learning solutions, design comprehensive curricula, and manage a scalable LMS while measuring impact and continuously improving programs across technical, professional, and leadership tracks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, OD, Education, Psychology, Business or related field.
  • 6+ years in learning and development, with program leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning, instructional design, and program management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead learning and development strategy aligned with business priorities.
  • Co-create learning solutions with internal customers and SMEs.
  • Design, curate, and improve onboarding, technical, leadership, and professional training materials.
  • Oversee LMS: administration, content organization, reporting, and governance.
  • Measure learning impact using participation, completion, and business metrics.

MD&A's Learning & Development Specialist will lead the learning and development function by designing and implementing strategies, programs, and experiences that build employee capability, improve performance, and support business goals. Oversees training needs analysis, curriculum development, delivery, facilitation, and measurement across technical, professional, leadership, and manage applicable LMS components.

  • Help develop and execute the organization’s learning and development strategy in alignment with business priorities and workforce capability needs.
  • Co‑create learning solutions with internal customers.
  • Designs, curates, and continuously improves learning programs, curricula, and materials for onboarding, technical training, leadership development, and professional skills.
  • Helps execute employee, manager, and leadership development initiatives that strengthen capability, readiness, and career growth.
  • Manages learning and development policies, programs, and systems, including instructor‑led, virtual, blended, and self‑paced learning experiences.
  • Aid with training delivery, facilitation, and ensures high‑quality learner experiences across audiences and locations.
  • Selects and optimizes learning methods, technologies, and tools based on audience needs, business context, and desired outcomes.
  • Owns the learning management system (LMS), including administration, content organization, learner assignments, reporting, system optimization, governance, and user support.
  • Manages external learning partners, contract instructors, and internal subject matter experts to ensure content quality, consistency, and effective delivery.
  • Measures learning effectiveness through participation, completion, knowledge transfer, learner feedback, and business impact metrics, and uses data to improve programs and priorities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Psychology, Business, Instructional Design, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in learning and development, training, talent development, or a related field, including experience leading programs and initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, facilitation methods, and learning program management.
  • Experience administering or owning a learning management system (LMS), including assignments, reporting, content maintenance, and user support.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, influence stakeholders, and guide the work of team members, facilitators, or cross‑functional partners.
  • Experience partnering with business leaders and subject matter experts to identify skill gaps and build learning solutions, including technical or operational training where applicable.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships and foster a culture of learning and development.
  • Ability to coach, develop, and influence others, with strong leadership and relationship management skills.
  • Strong oral, written, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to influence leaders and stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strong problem‑solving and needs analysis skills.
  • Ability to analyze learning data, interpret trends, and translate insights into action.
  • Strategic thinking skills with the ability to align development initiatives to business needs.
  • Strong project and program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Instructional Design, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience leading technical training, workforce capability, or role‑based learning programs in an industrial, manufacturing, field service, or operational environment.
  • Experience with learning technologies, content authoring tools, and digital learning platforms.
  • Relevant certifications such as CPTD, ATD, SHRM, instructional design, project management, or coaching credentials.
  • Experience measuring learning impact and using data to improve performance, adoption, and business outcomes.
