Job summary

The University of Canberra is seeking a passionate Learning Designer to work with academic subject matter experts to design, develop, and deliver engaging learning experiences across a range of courses.

You will apply contemporary learning design principles, develop digital resources, and provide advice on digital pedagogy and educational technologies; experience with H5P is highly desirable. You will collaborate across disciplines to support inclusive, student‑centred learning and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in learning design, instructional design, educational development, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of learning design principles for online, blended, and face‑to‑face learning environments.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple projects in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with academic staff and stakeholders to design and implement innovative learning solutions that enhance the student experience.
• Design high-quality learning activities, assessments, and educational resources grounded in contemporary learning design principles.
• Develop and publish engaging digital learning materials, including interactive online resources.
• Provide expert advice on learning design, digital pedagogy, and educational technologies.
• Support the development of inclusive, flexible, and student‑centred learning experiences across a range of disciplines.
• Manage project timelines, identify delivery risks, and ensure successful completion of learning design projects.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the University to achieve strategic learning and teaching outcomes.
