Job summary

Florida Gulf Coast University is seeking a Learning Specialist to design, develop, and implement learning plans for student populations including student‑athletes and first‑year students. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with four years of related experience or eight years of related full‑time experience.
  • Experience in education, advising, student success or retention.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer skills.
  • Combination of education, experience, and certifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and implements academic support services to improve retention and graduation rates.
  • Provides individualized academic coaching and supports for first-year students, student‑athletes, and at‑risk students.
  • Develops learning plans and guides transferable skills like time management and study strategies.
  • Coordinates with campus partners and peer coaching to connect students with resources.
  • Maintains data collection and reporting to support program assessment and improvements.
