Job summary

Huntington Learning Center in West Des Moines, IA is seeking a part-time Learning Center Coordinator & Tutor to support students and families and help keep the center running smoothly.

You'll tutor students one-on-one, manage family communications, schedule sessions, assist teachers, and handle center operations. The role emphasizes exceptional customer service, organization, and the ability to work independently with a positive, growth-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
• At least one year of tutoring, teaching, or comparable experience working directly with students required.
• Education, administrative, customer service, or related experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of responsibilities.
• Genuinely enjoy working with children and helping them learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students one-on-one across multiple grade levels and subject areas.
• Administer academic evaluations for new students.
• Support students in building academic skills, confidence, and motivation.
• Assist teachers and help onboard and train new instructors.
• Coordinate daily and weekly student and teacher schedules.
• Manage calendars, appointments, Zoom meetings, and other administrative tasks.
• Process payments, invoices, and payroll tracking.
• Keep the center organized and running efficiently.
• Support marketing and community outreach efforts.
