Job summary

RaceTrac is seeking an Instructional Designer to lead the learning architecture within the L&D team. You will translate business needs into structured, evidence-based learning solutions and guide the instructional strategy from analysis to final design sign-off.

You will partner with SMEs and content developers to ensure learning experiences align with adult learning principles and measurable outcomes, applying ID models, job aids, and assessments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum & Instruction, Psychology, Communications, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in instructional design and deployment.
  • Strong command of adult learning theory and ID models (ADDIE, SAM, backward design).
  • Proven ability to write clear, production-ready storyboards, scripts, and facilitator guides.
  • Experience partnering with SMEs through a full content development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct needs analyses to translate business objectives into measurable learning objectives.
  • Design learning experiences using ID models and adult learning principles (e.g., ADDIE, backward design).
  • Create storyboards, scripts, facilitator guides, and assessments for production teams.
  • Partner with SMEs and stakeholders to manage scope and review cycles.
  • Establish and apply learning design standards and evaluation strategies to ensure impact.
