Job summary

Sax Advisory Group, LLC seeks a Learning & Development Specialist to support the firm’s learning programs, manage the LMS, handle onboarding, and ensure regulatory compliance across jurisdictions. You will collaborate with the L&D Manager to deliver end-to-end training and administer CPE requirements.

This role involves coordinating instructors, IT, and staff, producing data reports, entering completion certificates, and maintaining NASBA and state standards while enabling a high-quality learner

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, industrial/organizational psychology, or other learning related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years’ experience working in learning and development, education, human resources, or related field
  • Available during designated EST working hours, with overlap to support US-based team members
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end administrative support for 200+ classes per year, including invitations, reminders, materials, attendance tracking, room scheduling, evaluations, and CPE credits.
  • Manage LMS user accounts for the full employee lifecycle, onboarding, regulators, CPE records, learning tracks, and training.
  • Assist in course development meetings with internal SMEs, ensuring NJ CPE compliance.
  • Facilitate live training sessions with slide decks, materials, polls, breakout rooms, and IT troubleshooting.
  • Analyze data, organize large datasets, and generate compliance reports for practice leaders.
  • Enter certificates of completion into the LMS within 5 business days of events.
  • Schedule and present an L&D overview for new hires.
  • Manage new-hire documentation, including past CPE certificates.
  • Coordinate with instructors to ensure materials meet NJ CPE standards.
  • Proofread and edit course materials for formatting and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with IT for onsite and hybrid classroom setups.
  • Maintain NASBA and NJ/NYC CPE-compliant digital files.
  • Register professionals for Becker Exam Preparation in coordination with Becker.
  • Respond to inquiries or escalate to the Director of L&D as needed.

Role Summary

The Learning & Development Specialist provides end-to-end operational and administrative support for the firm’s learning programs, ensuring seamless delivery, regulatory compliance, and a high-quality learner experience. This role partners closely with the L&D Manager to support instructional design, manage the learning management system, and administer Continuing Professional Education (CPE) requirements across multiple jurisdictions. The Specialist plays a critical role in onboarding, training facilitation, data analysis, and compliance reporting, while serving as a key point of coordination across instructors, IT, and professional staff to support the firm’s development strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide end-to-end administrative support for over 200 classes per year, including managing course invitations, course reminders, distribution of course materials, tracking attendance, scheduling conference rooms, monitoring attendance, sending course evaluations, issuing continuing professional education (CPE) credits, etc.
  • Manage employee user accounts for all L&D applications for the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding (activating accounts, assignment of regulators, importing of CPE records, learning tracks, classes, and anti-sexual harassment training), regular maintenance for compliance with CPE/State/Federal/QC requirements, and termination (deactivating accounts, transferring of CPE records to former employee as appropriate).
  • Assist and/or facilitate in course development meetings with internal subject matter experts on course topics, instructional delivery, learning objectives, in-class activities and course material, in compliance with New Jersey CPE requirements.
  • Facilitate live training courses by displaying slide deck presentations, disseminating course materials, launching poll questions, managing breakout rooms, and troubleshooting IT technical difficulties as needed.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in data analysis, including extracting employee data, organizing, and maintaining large datasets for new and existing hires, and generating compliance reports for practice leaders to support CPE regulatory requirements.
  • Accurately enter internal and external certificates of completion from courses attended by the professional staff into the firm’s learning management system within 5 business days of the event, or when proof of attendance is received.
  • Schedule and present an L&D Overview for all new hires.
  • Manage new hire documentation including entering previously earned CPE certificates into the LMS.
  • Follow-up with instructors to ensure course materials have been received and are prepared in accordance with New Jersey CPE standards.
  • Assist with proofreading and editing course materials for basic formatting, grammar, spelling, punctuation, dates, etc.
  • Coordinate with IT to ensure proper classroom setup is achieved for onsite and hybrid courses.
  • Maintain files of course materials in digital format, in compliance with the retention regulations of NASBA, and New Jersey CPE.
  • Register all interested professionals for Becker Exam Preparation, working closely with Becker Professional Education.
  • Co-manage the training inbox, responding to all questions or escalating to the Director of L&D as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, industrial/organizational psychology, or other learning related field, or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years’ experience working in learning and development, education, human resources, or related field
  • Available during designated Eastern Standard Time (EST) working hours, with scheduled overlap to support morning collaboration with U.S.-based team members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, & Teams)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in education, instructional design, industrial/organizational psychology, or other related fields, or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years’ experience working in learning and development at an accounting firm
  • Experience with NASBA, New Jersey, & New York Continuing Professional Education (CPE) requirements
  • Experience in developing and delivering virtual training programs
  • Experience maintaining a learning management system
  • Experience with the following technologies: LCvista, Prolaera, Conferences i/o, Asana, or other learning technologies
