Role Summary:
The Learning & Development Specialist supports the coordination, administration, and execution of training and development programs across the Bank. This role assists with career development initiatives, employee growth programs, and learning activities by providing program coordination, resource management, and reporting. This role helps maintain consistent employee development experience through the administration of career paths, shadow opportunities, individual development planning resources, and the Learning Management System (LMS) tools.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enthusiastically support the bank sales function by providing exceptional service to internal and external customers of the bank.
- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of training and development programs for new and existing employees.
- Support the administration and maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS), including tracking, reporting, and content creation and updates.
- Coordinate and support development programs, including Career Paths and the Shadow Program.
- Develop, update, and maintain bank-wide role descriptions in collaboration with department managers to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with role requirements and career development initiatives.
- Support talent assessment processes by tracking results and maintaining documentation.
- Work with managers, team members, and employees to coordinate and support career development initiatives and employee growth opportunities.
- Develop and maintain training materials, guides, and resources to ensure consistency across programs.
- Assist with coordination and scheduling of training sessions, workshops, and development programs.
- Support facilitation efforts for training and development programs as needed.
- Track program participation and summarize feedback to support evaluation of program effectiveness and identify potential improvement opportunities.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to training, development programs, and employee participation.
- Support the review and maintenance of training materials to help ensure alignment with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Update knowledge and develop professionally on a continuing basis. Participate in internal and external training and development opportunities as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned to fulfill the responsibilities of this role.
- Fully comply with all applicable enterprise policies and procedures. Acts in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations as outlined in training materials, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act. Responsible for reporting suspicious activity to the AML/CFT team
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, Education, or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in training, learning and development, program coordination, employee development or related field preferred.
- Computer literacy includes experience with Office Suite, MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint and experience using or supporting Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Ability to plan and prioritize work, handle multiple tasks concurrently; exercise good judgment in all areas of responsibility; and work effectively under pressure and deadlines.
- Must be able to work independently and produce quality results, as well as work in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to speak in front of large groups of people and to express oneself clearly and articulately both orally and in writing. Must clearly convey training objectives and encourage trainees.
- Exceptional customer service skills with ability to solve problems and effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with customers and employees.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a pleasant office environment with minimal chance for personal injury. Frequent mental concentration is necessary for listening and responding to various situations. Must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds unassisted. Some twisting, bending, and turning is required. Work hours are generally during normal business hours and average 40 hours a week. Position requires some travel between locations, and unscheduled evening and weekend work.
