Position Summary

The Learning & Development Specialist partners with business leaders, subject matter experts, and employees across the organization to support learning initiatives that drive employee performance, engagement, and career growth. This role is responsible for coordinating, facilitating, tracking, and continuously improving training programs while ensuring alignment with organizational goals and leadership development strategies.

The Learning & Development Specialist works closely with the Learning & Development team, Instructional Designers, and operational leaders to develop engaging learning experiences and ensure employees have access to high-quality training opportunities that support both individual and organizational success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and administer employee learning and development programs, including onboarding, compliance, technical, leadership, supervisory, and professional development training.
  • Facilitate instructor‑led and virtual training sessions using various delivery methods, including classroom instruction, workshops, simulations, videos, and group discussions.
  • Assess employee and organizational development needs and recommend learning solutions that support business objectives.
  • Manage training assignments, completion tracking, reporting, and learning records within the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Develop and maintain learning materials, presentations, job aids, facilitator guides, and participant resources.
  • Support the creation and implementation of career development, mentoring, and leadership development programs.
  • Partner with business leaders and subject matter experts to identify skill gaps and develop targeted learning solutions.
  • Conduct training evaluations and collect feedback to measure effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Deliver “Train‑the‑Trainer” sessions to support internal facilitators and promote learning consistency across the organization.
  • Monitor learning and development trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance program offerings and learner engagement.
  • Generate training metrics and reports to support compliance requirements and organizational decision‑making.
  • Provide coaching and follow‑up support to employees and managers to reinforce learning outcomes and development plans.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, Learning & Development, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in learning and development, training coordination, talent development, or a related field.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Travel up to 50‑75%
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of learning management systems (LMS) and training administration processes.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles, instructional methods, and employee development practices.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and public speaking skills.
  • Experience creating engaging learning materials and training resources.
  • Ability to assess development needs and recommend effective learning solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and time‑management abilities.
  • Ability to build relationships and work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, learning technologies, and virtual training platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret training data and provide recommendations for improvement.
