Job summary

Ohio State University seeks an Aquatic Program Specialist to lead aquatic programming under supervision. You will create program ideas, manage logistics for Learn To Swim, recruit and train 15–25 student staff, and ensure equipment readiness and safety.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 2+ years of related experience, and current ARC Lifeguarding and WSI certifications; LGI/LGIT certifications are a plus. Evening and weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of relevant experience required; 2-4 years preferred.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding and Water Safety Instructor certifications; WSI, LGI, LGIT are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage Learn To Swim program logistics for 500+ participants annually.
• Recruit, hire, train, certify, schedule and supervise 15–25 student staff.
• Deliver lifeguard coverage and ensure safety across aquatic facilities.
• Oversee registrations, payroll, inventory and equipment readiness.
• Coordinate private lessons, facility rentals and special events as needed.
