Job summary

City of Hope seeks a Pharmacy Technician II to operate under Pharmacist supervision. Responsibilities include packaging, preparation, and compounding of oral, intravenous, and chemotherapy medications, including biohazard handling.

You will support inventory control, prior authorizations, and labeling, ensuring accuracy and compliant procedures. California registration is required, with a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

  • High School or equivalent or post-high school vocational training or graduation from a foreign school of Pharmacy.
  • 3 or more years of performing related duties as a pharmacy technician.
  • Certified Pharmacist Technician (CPhT) from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.
  • Certification Board (PTCB), preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with USP 797 & 800 at all times.
  • Utilize proper aseptic technique for all pharmaceutical mixing.
  • Order, receive, and maintain accurate medication inventory.
  • Coordinate with Specialty Pharmacies or manufacturers for timely deliveries of medications for infusion.
  • Perform routine daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning as required.
  • Procure and maintain supplies necessary for daily mixing operation.
  • Prescription order entry and process.
  • Coordination and submission of prior authorizations.
  • Determination of patient’s prescription benefits and seeks appropriate financial assistance when applicable.
  • Order, receive and maintain accurate medication inventory.
  • Assist with routing and release of prescriptions to the appropriate pharmacy.
  • Properly label and fill prescription drugs.

We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician II! This position requires a California Registered Technician who will operate under Pharmacist Supervision. The primary responsibilities include packaging, preparation, and compounding of oral medications, intravenous medications, as well as chemotherapy/biohazard medications. Additionally, the role involves implementing and maintaining control procedures, conducting inventory management, and overseeing stock control.

As a successful candidate, you will:

Additional Information
  • Hourly Per Diem Rate: $32.19
