Job summary

City of Hope is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Lead in the Phoenix area to oversee critical pharmacy operations under pharmacist supervision. The role emphasizes chemotherapy compounding, packaging, and inventory management within a high-volume setting.

Qualified candidates will have two years of recent chemotherapy experience, an active Arizona technician license and a PTCB certification. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity at City of Hope’s Arizona facilities.

• Current Arizona pharmacy technician license.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB).

Responsibilities

• Perform all technical duties of a pharmacy technician under the direct supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacist manager.
• Provide direct supervision and coordination of all technicians and duties within departmental operations.
• Participate in Administrative Automation, packaging, sterile compounding, and purchasing and inventory management.

The successful candidate

• Shift: M-F 8:00AM-4:30PM***

The position performs all technical duties of a pharmacy technician in addition to providing direct supervision and coordination of all technicians and duties by actively participating in departmental operations within the scope of policies and procedures. This position works under the direct legal supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacist manager. The position requires the ability to make critical decisions, facilitate stakeholder conflict resolution, work independently with minimal supervision, and solve problems. Three distinct areas of core responsibilities are defined: Administrative Automation, packaging, and sterile compounding Purchasing and inventory management.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Two years within the last five years in a comparable job classification with chemotherapy compounding experience.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Licensure: Current Arizona pharmacy technician license

Certification: National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB)
