Job summary

Moog Space and Defense Group in Blacksburg, VA is seeking a Continuous Improvement Leader who will apply Lean Six Sigma to improve manufacturing and business processes. You will report to the Value Stream Manager and work onsite.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of Lean Six Sigma experience in manufacturing, plus ability to lead improvement projects, train staff, and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience using continuous improvement tools with a Lean Six Sigma focus in a manufacturing setting.
• Proven ability to utilize statistical evaluation techniques, process capability analysis, and performance metrics to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and apply Lean Six Sigma principles to improve business and manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate and facilitate improvement activities.
• Convert strategic goals into actionable Lean Six Sigma plans.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities, execute plans, and achieve goals.
• Train staff and lead/support Lean events and improvement projects.
• Develop and standardize continuous improvement tools, processes, and metrics.
• Support teams in identifying and implementing area improvements.
• Lead Lean Six Sigma activities with cross-functional groups.
• Create and track annual improvement plans.
• Optimize site operations (5S, material flow, Kanbans, etc.) to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.
• Improve business processes across the organization.
• Identify and solve problems to reduce costs.
• Develop daily improvement systems and tools.
• Train staff on Lean Six Sigma concepts.
• Stay updated on continuous improvement and Lean Six Sigma methods.
• Travel to other facilities, customers, and suppliers (10% travel).
