Job summary

PACCAR Engine Company in Columbus, Mississippi seeks a Section Manager - Assembly SG25 to lead Lean manufacturing initiatives and drive process improvements across safety, quality, delivery, cost and morale. The role oversees 5–7 direct reports and 100–200 non-exempt employees, with scheduling across day, evening and night shifts.

The candidate will implement standard work, visual management and 5S, while partnering with other departments to meet production goals and deliver excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years experience at the supervisory level in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience.
• Possess data‑driven problem‑solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
• Proven ability to work in a self‑directed environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required; SAP experience a plus.
• Must be able to work any shift.

Responsibilities

• Lead Lean initiatives and standard work; visualize management and teamwork.
• Manage improvement efforts and operational standards for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Drive production standards and quality control programs.
• Ensure metrics for efficiency and performance are met.
• Manage direct reports to meet production goals.
• Optimize staffing to promote schedule stability and efficiency.
• Set group and individual accountabilities; develop direct reports.
• Coordinate with other departments, suppliers, customers, or applicants as needed.
• Provide coverage across shifts and weekends.
