Job summary

Abbott in Saint Paul, MN, seeks a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead a team in a cleanroom, applying Lean methods to deliver high-quality medical devices.

You will supervise daily operations, coach staff, drive continuous improvement, ensure FDA/ISO13485 compliance, and collaborate with Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering or life sciences, 3–5 years in regulated manufacturing, and Lean expertise; shift Mon-Thu 3:00 PM–1:30 AM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, life sciences, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device or pharmaceutical preferred).
• Minimum 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations on the manufacturing floor, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity targets are met.
• Promote Abbott’s values and foster a positive, high-performance work environment.
• Lead and coach team members in Lean tools such as 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Identify and eliminate waste through continuous improvement initiatives and kaizen events.
• Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and reduce variability.
• Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, ISO 13485, and internal quality standards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve issues and support new product introductions.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support employee development and training.
