Talis Group’s client in Jeffersonville, IN is seeking a hands‑on Production Leader. Lead daily operations, develop frontline leadership, and implement Lean/TOC to improve quality, throughput, and on‑time delivery.

This role emphasizes people development, teamwork, and continuous improvement in a high‑mix, low‑volume make‑to‑order environment. The position supports a 40‑to‑45‑hour work week on a single shift with comprehensive benefits and a strong emphasis on work‑life balance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related discipline preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience preferred.
• Experience leading production teams and developing frontline supervisors or Team Leaders.
• Demonstrated success implementing Lean manufacturing principles, standardized work, and continuous improvement initiatives with measurable results.
• Proven ability to coach, motivate, and develop employees while building strong, accountable leadership teams.
• Experience in high‑mix, low‑volume, make‑to‑order, or custom manufacturing environments preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and drive improvements using data and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily manufacturing operations through Team Leaders and production Associates, maintaining accountability for safety, quality, productivity, and on‑time delivery.
• Develop and coach Team Leaders, strengthening leadership capabilities, employee engagement, problem‑solving skills, and accountability.
• Maintain a strong presence on the production floor, working directly with employees to identify improvement opportunities and drive results.
• Build and sustain a Lean manufacturing environment using standardized work, visual management, workplace organization, and structured problem solving.
• Apply Theory of Constraints (TOC) principles to identify production bottlenecks, improve throughput, manage work‑in‑process, and reduce manufacturing lead times.
• Improve manufacturing flow, labor planning, material availability, and equipment reliability while maintaining the flexibility required for custom production.
• Partner across Scheduling, Purchasing, Engineering/Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, Quality, Customer Service, and Shipping to align priorities and resolve production challenges.
• Develop employee training programs, skills matrices, and cross‑training opportunities to strengthen workforce capabilities and improve process consistency.
• Monitor key performance indicators and use production data, root‑cause analysis, and employee input to eliminate recurring problems and drive measurable improvements.
• Support equipment, tooling, layout, and process improvements while building a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
