Job summary

Carlisle Brake & Friction Inc. in Medina, Ohio seeks a Production Supervisor to lead manufacturing operations, strengthen safety culture, develop teams, and drive improvements in quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.

You will coach staff, plan daily staffing, enforce safe practices, use Lean tools, and partner with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve issues and sustain a hands-on, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in manufacturing, operations, engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years manufacturing experience, with 3+ years leading production employees.
• Proven track record in safety, quality, delivery, labor, and cost performance.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing and structured root-cause problem solving.
• Strong coaching, communication, conflict-resolution, and performance-management skills.
• Experience using ERP/MES and electronic timekeeping systems.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop production employees to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity goals.
• Plan daily staffing and work assignments based on production requirements and equipment.
• Promote safe work practices, PPE, lockout/tagout, and plant safety procedures.
• Monitor output, downtime, scrap, rework, labor efficiency, and schedule attainment.
• Use data and root-cause methods to resolve equipment, process, quality, and workflow issues.
• Drive Lean initiatives: 6S, standard work, visual management, kaizen, waste reduction, continuous improvement.
• Partner with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Materials, Supply Chain, HR to resolve issues.
• Set expectations and provide coaching, recognition, feedback, and corrective action.
• Coordinate onboarding, training, cross-training, and skills development.
• Ensure accurate production reporting, timekeeping, attendance, and shift handoffs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe, audit-ready production environment.
