Job summary

Carlisle Brake & Friction Inc. is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead manufacturing operations at our Medina, Ohio facility. This hands-on role emphasizes safety culture, employee development, and achieving production goals with measurable quality improvements.

The ideal candidate will solve issues at the source, drive Lean initiatives, and work effectively across Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Materials, and HR to meet targets.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent exp in manufacturing/related field.
• 5+ years manufacturing experience, including leadership of production staff.
• Proven track record in safety, quality, delivery, labor, productivity and cost.
• Experience with Lean and root-cause problem solving.
• Strong coaching, communication, conflict-resolution, and performance-management skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems (ERP/MES).
• Capable in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop production employees to hit safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity goals.
• Plan daily staffing and work assignments based on requirements and equipment availability.
• Enforce safe work practices including PPE, lockout/tagout, and machine guarding.
• Monitor output, downtime, scrap, rework, and schedule attainment.
• Use data and root-cause methods to resolve issues.
• Drive Lean initiatives (6S, standard work, visual management, kaizen, waste reduction).
• Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Materials, Supply Chain, and HR.
• Provide coaching, recognition, feedback, and corrective action.
• Coordinate onboarding, training, and cross-training.
• Ensure accurate production reporting, timekeeping, attendance, and shift handoffs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe, audit-ready environment.
