Job summary

Swift Prepared Foods seeks an experienced processing supervisor to direct operations and personnel in meeting production and quality targets. You will promote safety, manage shift schedules, and partner with HR and maintenance to ensure efficient, compliant production.

The role requires 5–10 years in food manufacturing, strong leadership, and excellent communication. Candidates should be highly organized and capable of driving improvements and cost efficiency in a fast-paced plant environment.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in a food manufacturing plant or similar; meat experience preferred
• College degree preferred or equivalent experience/education
• Experience in leading groups of employees and setting objectives
• Strong supervisory and interpersonal skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• May require long hours and weekends
• Lean manufacturing knowledge and leadership applications
• Proficiency with PC software (word processing, spreadsheets, multiple applications)
• Detail oriented and highly organized
• Spanish/English bilingual desired but not required

Responsibilities

• Directs processing operations and personnel to meet quality standards and control costs.
• Promotes a safe working environment and conducts accident investigations.
• Sets and tracks performance to targets and budgets; manages attendance and discipline.
• Plans short-term activities for processing continuity, schedules shifts, and coordinates materials.
• Collaborates with plant functions to attain output, productivity, and quality.
• Assists HR with hiring and training shift supervisors and supports plant manager activities.
• Ensures staff are trained to operate equipment and minimize downtime.
• Leads and motivates processing labor to meet schedules at optimum productivity.
• Recommends improvements in processing flow and machine/equipment modifications.
• Maintains effective working relations with USDA, FSQA and plant personnel.
