Job summary

Swift Prepared Foods in Elkhart, Indiana is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee shift operations in a plant environment. You will guide production staff, ensure safety, productivity, and timely yields while maintaining records and coordinating with cross‑functional teams.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and lean manufacturing knowledge, with prior experience in food production or meat processing preferred. Some travel and a collaborative, proactive mindset are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years in a food manufacturing plant or similar; meat experience preferred.
• College diploma or university degree, or equivalent combination of related experience and education.
• Extensive knowledge and technical skill in a variety of production jobs.
• Strong interpersonal relations and ability to handle conflict.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, evaluate and direct personnel on shift in operations per sound principles and policies.
• Promote safety, efficiency and productivity; ensure proper training of employees.
• Anticipate delays and take actions to meet production schedules.
• Apply employee relations and union contract policies in dealings with staff.
• Ensure machinery and facilities are maintained and sanitized for production.
• Maintain production records (payroll, yields).
• Collaborate with other supervisors and management to promote efficiency and teamwork.
• Attend meetings as scheduled; perform other duties as assigned.
