Job summary

Serta Simmons Bedding (SSB) in Charlotte, NC seeks a seasoned supply chain professional to manage inbound raw materials for a high-velocity, lean manufacturing environment.

You will plan, order and store critical materials using MAP/MRP, oversee lean replenishment on the production floor, and maintain accurate inventory levels. You will report quality defects and collaborate with Sourcing Operations to reduce waste and improve service.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years related experience in a Lean manufacturing environment.
• BA/BS Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Strong computer skills: ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite; analytical and organizational abilities.
• Experience with OSHA.
• APICS/CPM certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Foster a safety culture and implement safety policies in compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Manage timely receipt and disposition of materials.
• Plan, order, and manage storage of critical raw materials using MAP/MRP systems.
• Oversee Lean raw material replenishment and storage on the production floor.
• Plan material life cycle and reduce obsolete inventory; aim to reduce waste.
• Create and issue quality alerts.
• Report quality defects of raw materials to Sourcing Operations.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels using the MRP system; perform cycle counts.
• Assist with inbound freight cost management and supplier coordination.
