Job summary

Pierce Manufacturing, an Oshkosh company, is seeking a Materials intern to assist the team with data analysis and process improvements. The role focuses on optimizing material flow and reducing landed costs by applying PFEP and lean principles.

You will collect data from ERP systems, assist in reports, and support Continuous Improvement activities, 5S, and standardization across the Materials department. The internship is targeted at students pursuing relevant degrees and requires a minimum GPA.

Qualifications

• Student working towards a Bachelor's degree in Operations/Manufacturing Management, Business, Engineering, or related field for entire duration of internship.
• GPA of 3.0 or greater
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Compile data from ERP systems, spreadsheet, and other sources to support decision-making in conjunction with the Plan for Every Part process.
• Reduce excess material handling inside facilities, between facilities and to and from local suppliers through value stream analysis and application of PFEP principles.
• Support standardization, advancement and implementation of a lean enterprise material flow strategy.
• Work with the Materials and Operations department to introduce, promote, and implement lean manufacturing techniques to reduce cost and improve efficiency.
• Run and compile various reports as well as run various data analytics to understand the data
• Assist in the continuous improvement techniques including Continuous Improvement events and 5S.
