Job summary

Trane Technologies plc is seeking a materials and logistics supervisor to coordinate daily site material flows, receiving, warehousing, and shipping at an on-site Columbia, SC facility. You will lead staff and implement lean practices to support production needs and optimize inventory while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes process improvement, collaboration with logistics providers, and maintaining accurate records for continuous improvement and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or engineering preferred; 1–5 years in manufacturing.
• Experience with rate-based or flow line environments (non-MRP).
• Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP and lean processes.
• Familiarity with visual management systems.
• Experience operating warehouse equipment and related certifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory/shipping software.

Responsibilities

• Apply lean management to increase velocity and reduce inventory levels.
• Create and own action plans, countermeasures, and logistics reports.
• Verify incoming/outgoing shipments against records and prepare items for shipment.
• Determine shipment methods, routes, and rates.
• Manage packing areas and supervise staff to meet production needs.
• Maintain records, logs, and documentation; coordinate with 3PLs and providers.
• Develop warehouse systems for receiving, inventory, and shipping.
• Ensure compliance with warehousing regulations and safety standards.
