Job summary

SCHOTT North America is seeking a capable supervisor to lead manufacturing operations in Massachusetts. The role focuses on achieving production schedules, maintaining process control, and ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with company policies.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering background, at least 5 years of supervisory or engineering experience, and strong leadership and communication skills to drive continuous improvement across shifts. US Person status may be required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years supervisory or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive continuous improvement.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; English communication required.
• US Person status may be required due to facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise departmental operations to meet production schedules and maintain quality, safety and policies.
• Lead and develop employees through training, performance management and coaching.
• Drive Lean, PSO and continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Production Control, Sales and Customer Service to optimize processes.
• Manage resources including staffing, materials, tooling, budgets, and labor reporting.
• Monitor product quality, process capability, cycle times and yields; implement corrective actions.
