Job summary

SKF Group in Muskegon, MI seeks an experienced manufacturing supervisor to organize and control department processes to maximize productivity and quality while maintaining safety.

Responsibilities include directing workforce, coordinating with related departments, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives in a lean manufacturing environment. A technical degree or apprenticeship and strong leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Associates/Technical Degree or Apprenticeship in industrial/manufacturing management or business.
• Five to seven years direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints, communicate effectively (verbally and written), and knowledge of shop math and manufacturing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the quality of the work from their department(s) and follows AS-9100 practices and maintains travelers and MRR documentation.
• Deploys assigned workforce to meet production goals.
• Maintains 5S and safety, promoting a neat and clean department.
• Coordinates with manufacturing engineering, production control, maintenance and others for methods, tooling, and requirements.
• Implements Lean Manufacturing improvements and drives cost reductions.
• Develops, trains and supervises an effective shop organization.
• Prepares and maintains reports and ERP system.
