Job summary

Wilsonart in Temple, Texas, is seeking a Lean Manufacturing Specialist to guide the plant in developing, executing, and sustaining Lean and Americas Cost Out strategies across the product value chain including suppliers, procurement, logistics, and production. You will identify non-value steps, lead lean projects, and collaborate with regional teams to gain buy-in.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years as a change agent in a manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years Industrial/manufacturing/engineering/LEAN experience.
• Six Sigma Certification, PMP Certification, APICS Certification a plus.
• Working knowledge of Toyota Production System or similar required.

Responsibilities

• Identify non-value steps and lead lean projects across the local plant organization.
• Collaborate with regional lean teams and management to gain buy-in for plant lean strategy.
• Conduct Lean Action Workout sessions or Value Stream Mapping activities.
• Develop urgency for improvement activities across the organization.
• Build and maintain visual controls and metrics for management decision making.
• Collaborate with support functions to implement lean, metrics, and dashboards.
• Coordinate with other departments (Quality, Safety, SPS) to leverage knowledge.
• Drive safety first and ensure quality in processes.
• Partner with plant operations to mentor manufacturing personnel.
• Achieve productivity targets related to LEAN activities.
