Job summary

Lithionics in Clearwater, FL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience in process optimization, data analysis, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

As an intern, you will create or update work instructions, collect production data, perform basic statistical analysis, support 5S and Lean initiatives, and assist the engineering team with CAD design, SOPs, and quality checks.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools.
• Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Create or update work instructions, SOPs, and process flow diagrams.
• Assist in documenting assembly procedures and quality checks.
• Data Collection & Analysis (cycle times, scrap, downtime).
• Perform basic statistical analysis to identify trends or bottlenecks.
• Support root cause analysis for defects or inefficiencies.
• Participate in Kaizen events or Lean initiatives.
• Suggest improvements for workflow, ergonomics, or material handling.
• Help implement 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
• CAD & Design Support for projects.
• Quality audits and inspection processes.
