Job summary

ABB Fort Smith is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the Fort Smith motor plant. The role focuses on improving manufacturing processes, safety, and efficiency using Lean and Six Sigma principles.

The engineer will lead process development, validate equipment, and drive continuous improvement to meet production targets while collaborating with maintenance and production teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and 3D prototyping tools.
• Lean Six Sigma and/or PMP certifications preferred; winding motors experience.
• Candidates must have US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Lead process development, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, cost performance, and operational efficiency.
• Define, validate, and approve manufacturing processes and equipment to meet project objectives and production targets.
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies, including testing, qualification, supplier selection, and approvals.
• Support production start-up and process deployment through troubleshooting, action planning, and training of maintenance and production teams.
