Job summary

Stewart & Stevenson is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop manufacturing processes, analyze data, and support lean manufacturing initiatives at our Houston facility. The role includes creating routers in Oracle, reviewing costs, and leading process improvements across production lines.

The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize procedures, optimize layouts, and implement improvement projects while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial) or related experience.
  • Oil and gas equipment experience preferred.
  • Oracle experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead and work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative and cost-effective manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct time studies and costing reviews of processes.
  • Create and maintain routers in Oracle for manufactured products.
  • Lead LEAN initiatives and Six Sigma projects to improve efficiency.
  • Review and approve Engineering Change Orders affecting Inventory.
  • Provide manufacturing cost data and KPI reports for management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
