Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering.
  • CAD/CAM experience; microcomputer proficiency in major packages.
  • Minimum of three to five years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Cost Justifications.
  • Ability to work well with people.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Design Engineering, Production Supervisor, and Group leaders for manufacturability of new products.
  • Determines, specifies, and implements tooling, fixtures, and production equipment required, including vendor selection, for manufacturing.
  • Develops, justifies, and implements process and assembly improvements for existing products.
  • Proposes and implements approaches to the design and development of new manufacturing processes, equipment, and plant/work center layout.
  • Balances line production based on sales/marketing requirements.
  • Prepares reports such as cash flow and make vs. buy analyses; analyzes related expenses for recommendations to production.
  • Evaluates labor performance to standards; assists design/test engineering with equipment testing needs.
  • Trains supervisors and group leaders on proper operation of production machinery and equipment.
