Job summary

Preformed-Line-Products in Albemarle, NC, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to support lean manufacturing by developing equipment specifications, tooling, and fixtures. You will work with technical staff to optimize value streams and drive setup reduction and waste elimination.

Responsibilities include kaizen activities, designing layouts, testing machine capabilities, and creating detailed manufacturing documentation in line with ISO standards. 3–5 years of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline with 3–5 years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience with ProE (or equivalent) and AutoCAD design software.
• Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel.
• Lean manufacturing experience and exposure to diverse manufacturing processes and materials.

Responsibilities

• Develop value stream strategies for modified or new machines and equipment, including fixtures, machinery and tooling.
• Conduct kaizen activities to improve workforce utilization, space, workflow, and equipment layout.
• Develop and implement lean strategies to drive projects, reduce setup time, and track results.
• Provide detailed manufacturing documentation including tool and fixture drawings, setup definitions, and procedures.
• Test machine capabilities and resolve process issues with operations personnel.
