Job summary

Gorbel is seeking an engineering student to join the manufacturing engineering team on first shift in the United States. You will help develop and improve production methods, document tooling, and assist with maintenance of equipment while learning lean practices and safety standards.

You will collaborate with engineering staff to capture production data, yield, timing and safety results, enabling continuous improvement across assembly areas and related processes.

Qualifications

• Enrollment as Engineering or Engineering Technology student.
• Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent command of Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CAD (SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD) and related programs.
• Ability to move about factory and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and equipment layout for maximum efficiency.
• Develop and implement tool redesign changes of materials and methods.
• Research manufacturing trends and recommend improvements.
• Investigate manufacturing problems and propose solutions; facilitate Lean initiatives.
• Investigate and prepare requests for capital improvements.
• Review Health, Safety and Environmental aspects.
• Perform various projects as assigned.
