Job summary

Gorbel, Inc. is seeking an Engineering/Engineering Technology student to assist Manufacturing Engineers in developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods.

You will help design production aids, jigs, and fixtures, and gain familiarity with lean processes and quality standards in a professional office and factory setting. • Enrollment as Engineering or Engineering Technology student.
• Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.

• CAD (Solidworks and/or AutoCAD) experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and equipment layouts for efficiency.

• Research manufacturing trends, new technology, and recommended improvements.

Utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts and fabrication processes, design, document and create production aids, jigs and fixtures. Gain knowledge of tooling and production equipment and their capabilities, then assist with maintenance, upgrades or replacement needs. Develop familiarity with assembly methods, lean manufacturing and quality control standards to assist with improvements in assembly areas.
