Job summary

Leoforce is seeking a Lean Manufacturing Engineer to advance manufacturing operations in PA, split ~80% engineering and 20% Lean/CI. You will drive process improvements, design cells and layouts, and develop standards with a focus on waste reduction and quality.

The role emphasizes hands-on Lean initiatives, collaboration with Production, Quality, and Materials, and delivering measurable results on the shop floor. A strong background in Lean tools and 5S/Kaizen is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related engineering discipline (equivalent experience considered).
  • 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience leading or supporting Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean tools including 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and Standard Work.
  • Experience reading engineering drawings and interpreting GD&T.
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical, project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Six Sigma certification, Manufacturing/Production Engineering experience, factory layout experience, or basic 2D CAD knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing operations through process development, troubleshooting, and production improvements.
  • Design and improve manufacturing methods, tooling, assembly processes, manufacturing cells, and plant layouts.
  • Develop work instructions, manufacturing standards, and process documentation to improve consistency and quality.
  • Partner with Production, Quality, and Materials to improve manufacturability, productivity, and operational performance.
  • Lead Lean/Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives using tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, workflow optimization, cost reduction, and waste elimination.
  • Lead cross-functional improvement projects from concept through implementation while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Job Details

We're seeking a Lean Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing operations while driving Lean and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives across our largest business division in PA.
